December 1987 through September 1993.
This Intifada (uprising centered on rebellion) started when an Israeli driving an automobile had an accident that killed four Palestinians. The Palestinians thought it was done intentionally and started rioting. An Israeli soldier was being attacked with a fire bomb on the first day after the riots started, and return fire killed a 17 year-old Palestinian. This made Muslim clerics call for revenge.
In most cases injuries to Palestinians came after attacking Israeli forces.
There were approximately 200 Israelis killed during these Palestinian riots.
There were approximately 1100 Palestinians killed by Israeli soldiers.
There were approximately 942 Palestinians killed by other Palestinians for being "collaborators" with Israel.
