Pursue life. Renounce bitterness when it shows up. Seek peace.
Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it. (Psalm 34:14)
E = Embrace:
Embrace your own need for grace. Remember what God has done for you.
Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you. (Ephesians 4:32)
Acknowledge your pain. Realize that you were hurt and in pain. This is better than pretending that a problem never happened or avoiding it.
Choose to forgive. This can only be done after you acknowledge your pain and bitterness.
If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men. (Romans 12:18)
...bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. (Colossians 3:13)
Extending grace to the person who wronged you means desiring blessing in their life.
